You are invited to join us to celebrate Sister Suzanne Toolan on Sunday, December 8 at 2 pm at Mercy Center Burlingame. The event, “Shout to God with Cries of Gladness,” Psalm 47:1 will feature a 45-minute video interview as we rejoice with Sister Suzanne in her 97th year.
Famous for “I Am the Bread of Life” composed in 1966, Sister Suzanne is recognized for her lifetime of composing hundreds of hymns, teaching, leading choirs, fostering liturgy and community, She introduced Taizé to the Bay Area and beyond and led monthly Taizé prayer in Mercy’s Chapel for over 40 years. She was first director of Mercy Center, the retreat center she helped found in 1981. Please join the Sisters of Mercy and her colleagues and friends in recognizing Suzanne’s many accomplishments.
