“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27

Our world is in a time of deep change, and on the surface we can feel tossed about by the many challenging circumstances. We are invited to find a deeper peace underneath all of that outer turmoil, which sustains and abides with us through these circumstances. During this immersive day of Centering Prayer we will engage with our full embodied being in Centering Prayer and other practices, which may include chanting, body prayers, and labyrinth walking. In addition, we will explore what this deep peace might mean for us in our lives as we find them. We will take a contemplative look at the words of Jesus through the Aramaic language that he spoke. Aramaic has far fewer words than many modern languages, and each word is rich with multiple meanings. We will explore and deepen some of his sayings and their meaning for us: in our Centering Prayer, in our lives just as we are in this moment, and in our complex world. Come join us on the beautiful Mercy grounds for this sacred circle.
